STEVE KRITZER
"WATCHING THE SNOW COME DOWN"

Steve Kritzer is a Northern California singer/songwriter.  Mark met Steve in the mid nineties on the Festival Circuit, first at the Napa Valley Folk Festival and then at the Kerrville Folk Festival.  Mark & Steve got together in Nashville in 1994 to co-write "Watchin' The Snow Come Down".  The song is a loosely based true story about an older couple who die in the back of their car in a blizzard, high in the Sierra Madres.  The quirky song is at times funny and poignant and has proved a crowd favorite during Steve's tours.

"Watchin' The Snow Come Down"
Mark Elliott & Steve Kritzer

I guess we should have gone to Florida
But you said that's where old folks go to die
At 83 we're both just  Spring Chickens
We should be living out the best years of our lives

Well you said, let's go up to the mountains
Take a drive up where the air is cool and clear
But there's a blizzard now and the car is going nowhere
Maybe December was the wrong time of the year

But isn't all so romantic
In the backseat of a car like we were kids
I could lie down  next to you here forever
Watchin' the snow come down

It's been almost a week and it's getting colder
And who knows what tomorrow's luck will bring
Maybe we should scoot a little closer
Just in case they don't find us 'till the spring

REPEAT CHORUS

Now you and I have watched the world spin 'round
But it's never passed us by
And now that we have seen the mountains
I can't wait to see the other side

REPEAT CHORUS
