WHEN CHRISTMAS
TREES WERE TALL

This Christmas song was written by
Mark & Tony Ramey and is featured on Mark's new CD "Pickin' Blackberries".  The song is a look back to the days when the view of Christmas was laying under the Christmas Tree among the presents and looking up through the branches at a world full of wonder and dreams.

When Christmas Trees Were Tall

Elliott/Ramey

I never will forget the first time that I saw
That big red suit and long white beard in the middle of the mall I sat up on his lap and handed him my list While mama took a Polaroid
To put up on the fridge

When Christmas trees were tall and we were little kids We’d lie beneath the branches dreaming of the gifts We’d hear reindeer on the rooftops and Santa’s footsteps fall
It was easy to believe in things
When Christmas trees were tall

There was really peace on earth on that silent night All around the world one star was shining bright The promise of tomorrow
Was there in every heart
As warm as that fireplace
That flickered in the dark

THE 'POSSUM SONG
CHILDREN'S BOOK

"The Possum Song" from the new CD "Pickin' Blackberries" is in the works to become a children's book.  The song is a true story about caring for a baby 'possum and ultimately having to say goodbye to a creature of the wild.
The accompanying book will  be both a gentle look into the love & loss of something special as well as a parent's guide to talking to your kids about the loss of a first pet and even the loss of a loved one.
The book is currently being illustrated by Texas's artist Richard Barton.  Look for it's release in the 2nd. quarter of 2007!

The View From The Top of the Hill
from the American Road CD
"That’s the view from the top of this hill
Takes my breath, makes my heart stand still
Lying on a blanket and starring off into space
I like to think of everything I’ve lost
What I’ve gained and at what cost
Where I can see over my troubles and my spills
From the top of this hill"
